Jakarta, Siber24jam.com – July 19, 2024 The Indonesian Attorney General’s Office, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance, and Training (USDOJ OPDAT), organized a workshop on asset tracing, asset recovery, and asset management from July 15 to 18, 2024, at the St. Regis Hotel in Jakarta.
During the workshop, participants received training in asset tracing, recovery of seized assets, and asset management to support law enforcement within the Attorney General’s Office. Dr. Emilwan Ridwan, Head of the Asset Recovery Center at the Attorney General’s Office, emphasized the importance of this event in enhancing prosecutors’ capacity to manage assets derived from criminal activities.

“This workshop provides us with the opportunity to learn from international experts about the latest techniques in asset tracing and recovery,” said Dr. Emilwan Ridwan.
Additionally, the U.S. Ambassador to Jakarta, Tomika Patterson, highlighted the importance of international cooperation in addressing corruption and organized crime cases. “We strongly support the Attorney General’s efforts in effective law enforcement and asset management,” Patterson stated.
The workshop was attended by prosecutors from various agencies, including the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Ministry of Finance, and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN). Speakers presented materials on asset seizure, digital tracing, and cybercrime. These speakers included experts from USDOJ-OPDAT, AUSA-MLARS, FBI, IRS-CI, USMS, and OIA.
Dr. Hari Setiyono, Head of the Legal Information Center at the Attorney General’s Office, stated that this workshop would strengthen law enforcement capacities in Indonesia. “This cooperation is part of our efforts to develop prosecutors’ abilities to handle complex economic and financial crimes,” said Dr. Hari Setiyono.
With the successful conduct of this workshop, it is hoped that the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office will become more effective in managing and recovering state assets derived from criminal activities, as well as strengthening international cooperation in law enforcement.
